杭州市翠苑第一小学创建于1986年，是杭州市最早的小区公建配套学校之一。2003年6月在城西开办了文华校区，成为西湖区第五所实施名校连锁办学的学校。这是一所既有着优良传统的“老学校”，又有着勃勃生机的“新学校”。

Cuiyuan No.1 Primary School inwas established in 1986. It is one of’s first public schools built as an organic part of local residential areas. In June 2003, the school became the 5^th famous educational institution in Xihu District to provide chain educational services when it launched Wenhua Campus in west. In November 2004, Cuiyuan Youth Sports Club was added as an arm to the school with the approval of the General Administration of Sports of China. In a word, Cuiyuan No.1 Primary School is at once an “old school” with fine traditions and a “new school” full of vigor and vitality.

翠苑校区位于文一路375号，占地面积8049平方米，文华校区位于竞舟路299号，占地面积9640平方米。2024学年，两校区共有60个班级，2496名学生，135位在职在编教职工。高级职称教师6人，中级职称教师90人，建有特级教师工作室分站和1个首席教师工作室。

Located at, Cuiyuan Campus of the school covers an area of 8094 m². Its Wenhua Campus, located at, covers an area of 9640 m². The school manages 60 classes with a student body of 2496 as of 2024. With a strong team of 137 staff members. Among its teachers, 6 hold senior professional titles and 90 get junior professional titles. Besides, there are a substation of Distinguished Teacher Studio and 1 Chief Teacher Studios.

学校注重教师专业化发展，通过道德素养、德育导师、读书明理、信息技术、生活品质等五大平台，借助“青蓝工程”、“青春学堂”，借力“启航杯”、“导航杯”，促进教师自我规划，自主提升，逐步形成了豁达、开放、进取、求真的教师文化，探索真知、真情、真实、真爱的本真教育。学校有十多项国家及省市级课题，办有学术刊物《星河》。

The school prioritizes professional development for teachers. Over the years, we have capitalized on five flagship platforms ranging from morality, educational ethics, “Reading for Reasoning”, IT to quality living, in addition to programs and projects like Qinglan Mentorship Program, Teenage Lectures, Qihang (Sailing) Competition, Daohang (Navigation) Competition, to enable our teachers to advance their careers and develop their professionalism in a more proactive way. 学校注重学生社会化培养，面向未来，聚焦核心素养，构建了“成长366?星河”课程体系，围绕成长、成才、成人三大目标，开发健康阳光、成长阶梯、书香阅读、生活品质、科技创新、国际理解等六大主题课程。以“小军人、小交警、小城管、小农夫、小商人、小厨师”六小角色体验为基础的“小角色 大体验”小公民社会道德体验教育体系项目列入中国教育学会“十三五”规划课题。

To help students make better sense of the society they live in and the future, we have taken on core qualities to launch the “366 Growth • Galaxy” courses. “3 Aims”: better development and better growth for students, giving full play to their talents. “6 thematic courses”: health and sunshine, growing up step by step, pleasure reading, quality living, Sci-Tech & Innovation, and international understanding. “6 Off-campus Roles”: teenager soldiers, teenager policemen, teenager urban managers, teenager farmers, teenager businessmen and teenager chefs”. The 6-role series of “experience as education”, given its strength in cultivating the socialist moral awareness among teenager citizens, has been listed as a research project funded by the Chinese Society of Education in its 13^th Five-Year Plan.
